Bringing Creativity Closer With 3D Tech

Hi, I'm T.H.! A world-class trained attorney on a mission to bring creativity closer with 3D tech. I keep current with relevant changes in corporate law, IP, contracts, regulatory compliance, and the business and science of using 3D to bring creativity to life. These days, I'm getting my hands dirty in additive manufacturing at fashion companies while exploring where I want to contribute next – and last. I've previously helped advance 3D (AR/VR for consumer entertainment and business uses), AI, and global internet security at tech startups and in bigtech, after starting my career learning from more seasoned lawyers in biglaw. I received my legal education at UC Berkeley following a bachelors from Wellesley College where I cross-registered to take finance and materials science classes at MIT. Scroll for career highlights and reach out if I can help.

Part-time Counsel and Production Assistant

Vadan Jewelry & other product companies

I part-time counsel Bonchoix Couture (costume maker for Disney and other entertainment companies), Venia Collection (direct-to-consumer apparel maker using CLO 3D software to develop tech packs), and jewelry start-up Vadan Jewelry (where I'm a seed stage investor) on manufacturing agreements, sales agreements, and IP protection. In exchange, they allow me to learn how they localize production using 3D printers & software for jewelry, apparel, and other consumer goods.

Senior Counsel

Stack Overflow

Over 100 million developers use Stack Overflow, a service that answers general coding questions in public and employer-specific technology questions in private. Stack Overflow develops its own foundational AI model, making it (along with other top AI startups Perplexity AI, Cohere AI, etc.) one of the few non-bigtech companies to do so. I’m proud that during my 5 months there as Senior Counsel, I helped them go-to-market with generative AI features that proves demand for their premium, genAI-powered software and data, generating buzz that led to signed AI deals with Google and OpenAI that I helped structure and negotiate.

Lead Counsel

Meta AR/VR

As Lead Counsel for experimental AR/VR, I helped Meta secure key hardware supplier contracts with favorable terms supporting Meta's long-term device strategy, avoid lawsuits, avoid incurring $50M+ regulatory fines, use AI/ML to recover $10B in lost revenue, and vet technology and companies that could possibly accelerate development speed through acquisitions. This was during an unusually stressful time when Meta was under two active regulatory orders and intense public scrutiny that made balancing the competing needs of regulatory compliance, product safety, and growth especially challenging. As recognition for my valuable advice, the Product team I supported paid for me to attend ProductSchool.com business training. I was the first counsel in the history of the company to receive this award.

Attorney

Xbox and HoloLens AR

As Attorney, I helped Microsoft's Xbox and Hololens AR team advance 3D visual graphics with a $2.5B acquisition of Minecraft followed by acquisitions of spatial computing technology. I also helped commercialize AR by closing a key deal for Accenture to resell and support medical, manufacturing, retail, and other enterprise uses of HoloLens.
